Well, I've finally decided to hop on the bandwagon with this whole blog thing. Look to the blog for updates, promotions, and recent shoot information.I'll use this first entry to introduce everyone to myself and my family...I was born in Portland Oregon and raised there with my parents. In my last years of high school, I was introduced to photography. I took my first photography class there at Tigard High School. After making my hands smelly in developer and watching my black and white photographs appear on the paper, I decided to take a shot at an internship at the local newspaper. My senior year of high school I landed an internship at Community Newspapers Inc. I was graced with the expertise of Jaime Valdez and Craig Mitchelldyer as my mentors. That year and a half made me the photographer I am today, and I give all my thanks for the painful critiques and wonderful advice from both of them.I then moved to Phoenix, Arizona and started freelancing for newspapers, magazines, companies and was even published in a Photography for Dummies book. After a year, I moved up to Flagstaff, Arizona and attended Nothern Arizona University for a degree in Photography.During my years at Nothern Arizona University I studied studio and on-location lighting technuiques. In fact my teachers and colleagues nicknamed me "stobe" for my use of studio lighting in most all my photographs. The most lights I used in one photo topped 11 different flashes. In combination of shooting commercial advertising and being raised in photojournalism makes my style very cutting edge. While in college, I met my wonderful wife Veronica and we were married on Dec 29th 2007. We planned a Portland wedding while living in Arizona and we were graced with one week... yes one week to plan our whole wedding while visiting my parents in Oregon. Like most women (sorry ladies!), she was 15 minutes late to our wedding. We laugh about that all the time.On Sep. 27th, 2008 @ 1:20 PM, our daughter Harper Rae Brashler was born. She has made both of our lives so happy. It is such an amazing feeling to come home to a huge gummy smile from my daughter. If you think you are excited about your wedding, just wait until you have a baby!Like most others, my family was affected by the economy. I firmly believe that photographs of yourself, your kids, your wedding, your life are not things we can give up. Memories need to be caught and kept forever. My wife and I have always been the ones answering the phone, responding to emails, handling paperwork, and designing the albums, flyers, and website. This is how we were able to cut our prices this year. We are taking less of a profit so you can still have professional photographs within your budget! If you have any questions at all, please feel free to email me at
